T.V series

T.V series are the kind of friends you don't want to lose: You enjoy their company, laugh with them, cry with them, and they fill your free hours with a lot of entertainment. The may disappoint you but they always offer a lot of options to compensate.

When I was a school girl, after I was out and arrived home I used to make something for eating while I watched t.v series like The Big Bang Theory, Friends, CSI and Criminal minds. In my free time -when I should be studying for the PSU- I watched all the seasons of “House M.D” and “Breaking Bad” (Both of them AMAZING, every minute of my life was well spent).

Nowadays, I don't watch T.V series as much as I want to, mainly because I don't have the time to sit down, make something tasty to eat and click the play button in my computer, but I've still love them a lot.

Now I watch series with short duration like “Black Mirror” and “We Bare Bears”. The last one it's a cartoon but it's so funny and adorable that it's a sin don't make a short time to watch them (Well, they last ten minutes per episode, so it's not a big deal).

Terrorist attack in France: Is the chilean economy safe?

During the early morning of Saturday 14th, seven terrorist attacks occurred in the city of Paris, France. A group of terrorists of ISIS terrorist organization attacked seven points of the city of lights as the Bataclan and the Stade de France. The balance of the attack is by now more than 120 killed and many injured citizens.

In the economic area, the stock in France falls in 0.14 %, and most of the stock in Asia falls down slowly, according to the newspaper "El Pulso". In Chile,Ramiro Galeano, an analyst at Forex Chile, said that despite the global landscape "in Europe inflation is slightly positive relative to expectations as it is 0.1% and 0% predicted (...) We must be attentive to stimuli that are made by the European Central Bank", referring to the possible repercussions that the attack in France could take on the economic side.

Today, the national and international outlook is unclear. The analysts say that the economy could change and resemble the economic situation that followed the terrorist attacks in 11-S in United States and 11-M in Spain. In this case, the online newspaper "El Líbero" has made a comparision between the attacks and the repercussion they had in economy. According to this “ trend” , the stock market would go down, but after a few weeks the economy will be “regulated”. All of this because the stock market wasn’t at the down, so the conditions for the market to regulate itself are favorable.

So, with all the information of the changes that the stock is suffering right now and making a comparison between past situations, the attack will affect the chilean economy in ways we don't clearly know, but they will be negative since the stock market have a tendency to go down.

7. An expert in Journalism: María Olivia Mönckeberg

María Olivia Mönckeberg is a titular professor at Universidad de Chile and director at Instituto de la Comunicación e Imagen (ICEI). She has developed in the Investigative Journalism area. Monckeberg has worked for very important magazines as Ercilla, Hoy and Análisis.

Análisis was a magazine characterized in opposition to the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Mönckeberg worked as general editor and subdirector in that context, risking her life because in that time being against the government meant to be prosecuted, tortured, exiled or killed.

Her work in investigation has been stunning: she has written eight books of investigation focused in institutions related to economy, catholic religion and education. Every book has been published in a certain context -as economic collusion or catholic church scandals- setting the debate in the public agenda and encouraging the investigation in those cases.

I like the work that Mönckeberg has done because is a clean, professional and passionate work. She raises as an magnificent example for the future journalist of this country, by encouraging the good research and the professional job.

Nieves, my Wolf-Dog

My first and the only pet I  had is a White dog called “Nieves”. Nieves is a mix of Samoiedo race and a wolf, also know as a Wolf-dog. She arrived to my house in 2003 when she was just a little puppy that an old man gave me as a present for Children’s day. My mom didn't like dogs, but she couldn't say no to the fluffy ball that came to our lives.

At the start, Nieves was very aggressive and apathetic dog, she bit a lot of people that visited my house in Viña del Mar, but with the pass of the time she became more tamed and now she’s a less aggressive dog.

She likes to dig holes in the grass, eat carrots and sleep in holes in the ground. So my dog it’s like a giant rabbit. She is twelve years old, but she still look younger and have the same strength like the old days.

An Old friend and Paul McCartney

This picture was taken on April 22th, 2014. In the photo appears an old friend of mine and I, enjoying the concert of Paul McCartney. I don't know who took the photo, but that doesn't matter. I love this photo because it captured a very special day in my life: I lost contact with my friend because she moved to another city (and her life changed), but we decided to go to this concert together, in spite of all the time we lost touch (one year).
So, we took a bus and got to the concert, and when I decided to go out for a smoke, a lady from the staff of Paul McCartney came to me and gave me two tickets ¡IN THE FIRST ROW!

So, this photo is about the reunion with my old friend and the chance to see my favorite beatle in front of me. That was indeed, a happy and lucky day.

"Bad Vibes" in my life

When I was fourteen years old I had a lot of troubles with my mother, so I wanted to run away from my house. That year, 2010 I guess, a teacher at school gave me to read “Bad Vibes” by Alberto Fuguet. Instantly, I felt close to the protagonist, Matías.

In the book, Matías leaves his home because he had problems with his family, but later when he is away from home and alone, he finds out that running away doesn't solve his problems. So I thought that, maybe, escaping from my home was not the solution and I didn't leave my house.

I feel close to this book because I had it for five years with me, and really helped me in that bad time. Also, I love the awesome music references that the book has like Pink Floyd and Faith No More.

Oh, laptop.

My favorite technology device is the laptop. The laptop is a portable personal computer with a clamshell form, suitable for mobile use. You see laptops in a lot of shapes and weights. My mother gave me one for Christmas about four years ago. It’s the best present she gave me because my laptop helps me in everything.

I use it to watch movies, downloading music, search recipes, write my short stories and my academic papers. I use my laptop everyday, and I love everything of it: it’s personal and fast, tiping in the keyboard and warm my lap with the laptop while it’s on it's a pleasure, the adrenaline of searching a place to recharge the battery when is low...¡Just everything!  My life would be very boring without my beloved laptop.

Expectations...

I’m doing the second semester of my carrer, journalism. Basically, I’m learning how you write properly and how to manage (and survive) in a newsroom . It’s hard and exciting at times. I’m expecting to learn how the job of and editor is and how to take all the responsibilities that it carries.

Currently, with my classmates we’re trying to run an online magazine about culture called “Patas Negras”. In fact, this is our first formal Project, and I deeply believe that everything will go excellent. If everything turns out fine as we expect, “Patas Negras” will become a real magazine, not just a university assignment.

Nineteen years in 110 words: An autobiography.

I was born in the big city of Santiago, but a few months after my birth, my family decided to move to a new place, Viña del Mar. Where my mother lives…and my father died. I grew up near by the sea, lying on the sand. I found out that I wanted to be a writer, and I needed to make it true in Santiago. So, I took my backpack and a bunch of dreams looking for a new home.

Now I study (and breathe) Journalism at Universidad de Chile, and my life goes between working and partying hard, taking long walks and thinking about a lot of stuff.
